so. its all going well. my wrist is getting stronger. 12 weeks out of plaster now and jammin all the time. we're starting to get some good stuff happening with dj, he's got a beautiful sounding kit and we've rigged a shaker onto a spare bass drum pedal - the shaker pedal is born!!! - (amongst some other percussion chicanery) so there's some lovely multi-layered beats happening. i got a new bass. a lovely ibanez 4-string. she sounds just like a real one so we're all pleased, and we've also been playing with the eq settings on the harp thanks to some input from gav. its an eternal search to find low end grunt without too much hum at 160hz, and we all know how harps are notorious for their overwhelming harmonic hummery. and the $6mil question? when do the flumes get to play gigs again? soon me hearties soon. we're about 9 songs up, which is a solid set without too much pain. so surely. and anyway, i'm really missing it. |
